The game

Create Your Own Adventure

Cat Spirit RPG is an action role-playing game where you explore the world as a cat, battle enemies, collect equipment and create your own character build.

Your equipment and spirit shard choices decide how your character plays. You can become a durable defender, an aggressive fighter, a ranged hunter, a stealthy attacker, a magical damage dealer or a totem-based support.

You are not locked into one traditional character class. Your spirit shard gives you the freedom to combine different domains and prepare different builds for the challenges ahead.

  • Action-focused combat
  • Character progression
  • Equipment and loot
  • Flexible ability builds
  • Solo and cooperative play

Combat

Melee or Ranged Combat

Every fight rewards movement, timing and smart use of your abilities. Choose equipment that supports the way you want to approach combat.

Fight Up Close

Melee combat puts you close to the action. Use claw attacks, combos, dodges and defensive timing to pressure enemies while avoiding their strongest attacks.

Depending on your build, you may focus on:

  • Fast attacks
  • Heavy damage
  • Blocking and defense
  • Bleeding or other combat effects
  • Staying close to dangerous enemies

Attack from a Distance

Ranged equipment lets you damage enemies from farther away. You can fire quickly while moving or take time to aim for more accurate attacks.

What to keep in mind:

  • Safer distance from enemy attacks
  • Fewer close-range defensive options
  • Positioning matters — enemies can still close the gap
  • Create space before you keep attacking

Abilities

Six Domains, Many Ways to Play

Abilities are organized into six main domains. Each domain supports a different style of play and contains two specialized subdomains.

A subdomain lets you develop a more focused version of that domain. You can invest in either side or combine abilities from both.

Tank

Protect yourself, survive powerful attacks and control enemy attention.

Subdomains — Choose between deeper personal defense and protecting others through control and durability.

Warrior

Fight aggressively with powerful melee attacks, critical strikes and sustained pressure.

Subdomains — Choose between relentless berserker power and hard-hitting battlefield aggression.

Scout

Master ranged combat, movement and precise attacks.

Subdomains — Develop as a careful marksman or a mobile ranger who survives through speed and awareness.

Rogue

Use stealth, poison, bleeding and quick attacks to defeat enemies before they can recover.

Subdomains — Become a deadly assassin or overwhelm enemies with poison and relentless strikes.

Muse

Control arcane and elemental power through damaging spells and rapid ability use.

Subdomains — Specialize in destructive elemental attacks or deep arcane power and energy control.

Support

Place magical cat-tower totems that heal allies, strengthen the group, protect an area or weaken enemies.

Subdomains — Focus on restoration and recovery or command the battlefield through offensive, defensive and controlling totems.

Domains are not permanent classes. They are unlocked through the spirit shard you have equipped, so you can change direction whenever you like.

Spirit shards

Your Build Lives in Your Spirit Shard

Spirit shards are the heart of your ability build. Each shard holds its own Ability Points, unlocked abilities and active ability loadout.

This means different shards can hold completely different builds. You can prepare one shard for defense, another for aggressive damage and another for cooperative play.

Spend Ability Points

As a spirit shard grows, it gains Ability Points. You can spend up to 25 Ability Points across all domains available on that shard.

Choosing an ability opens the next row of that subdomain, allowing you to move deeper into the tree. Some abilities also require a connected parent ability before they can be unlocked.

Combine Multiple Domains

Some spirit shards provide access to two or three domains instead of only one.

A split shard could combine Tank and Warrior abilities, or give access to Tank, Warrior and Scout on one build. All of those domains share the same Ability Point total, so every choice matters.

Active Abilities

Active abilities are actions you choose to use during combat. Unlocked active abilities can be placed in one of six ability slots for quick access.

Examples include powerful attacks, movement abilities, defensive actions, spells and totems.

Passive Abilities

Passive abilities improve your character automatically while their domain is your current focus.

They may increase damage, defense, movement, healing or the strength of certain abilities.

Name Your Build

Each spirit shard can be given a custom name, making it easy to remember the build stored on it.

For example, you could name one shard “Stonewall,” another “Quick Claws” and another “Totem Team.”

Custom names replace the shard’s normal rarity name in its title while the item’s rarity colour remains visible.

Domain Focus

Change Your Focus

A split-domain shard can contain abilities from several domains, but only one domain is focused at a time.

Your focused domain activates the passive abilities you selected in both of that domain’s subdomains.

All unlocked active abilities remain available, even when they belong to another domain. This lets you combine an active ability from one domain with the passive strengths of your current focus.

How focus cycles

A shard with Tank, Warrior and Scout cycles through its focus in this order:

  1. Tank
  2. Warrior
  3. Scoutback to Tank

When Tank is focused, Tank passives are active. Warrior and Scout passives temporarily become inactive, but unlocked Warrior and Scout active abilities can still be used.

Switching focus

You can change focus freely outside combat. During combat, changing focus has a short delay before it can be changed again.

Changing focus cancels the action you are currently performing, so choosing the right moment matters.

Planned — Your spirit shard will eventually glow with the colour of the focused domain, so you and nearby players can see your current focus at a glance.

Your focus changes your passive strengths without replacing your active ability loadout.

Support

Build a Tower of Totems

Support abilities use physical cat-tower totems that create helpful or harmful auras around them.

What totems can do

  • Heal allies
  • Restore resources
  • Strengthen attacks
  • Reduce incoming damage
  • Shield the group
  • Slow or weaken enemies

Placing and keeping totems

Different types of totems can remain active together, and totems can be stacked on top of one another.

Each active totem reserves part of the Support player’s Ability Energy while it remains on the field. Totems also have their own health and can be destroyed by enemies.

If a totem is destroyed or removed, its ability enters its full cooldown before it can be placed again.

Progression

Improve Your Spirit Shards

Shards grow with you. Strengthen the ones you love, and break down the ones you do not.

Upgrade a Shard

Upgrade your favourite spirit shards to increase their level and unlock more of their potential.

Upgrading uses shard dust and may require different dust rarities depending on the shard and its target level.

Your character must be a high enough level to complete certain shard upgrades.

Deconstruct Unwanted Shards

Unwanted spirit shards can be deconstructed into shard dust. Higher-level and rarer shards can provide more valuable materials.

An equipped shard must be removed before it can be deconstructed.

Once a shard is deconstructed, the shard and the build stored on it are permanently destroyed.

Spirit shards become bound after they are equipped or after Ability Points are spent on them.

Playing together

Adventure Together—or Challenge Each Other

Cat Spirit RPG is built around cooperative adventuring. Competitive play is there when your group wants it.

PvE

Explore and Fight Together

PvE is the main way to experience Cat Spirit RPG.

Explore the world, fight enemies, defeat bosses, collect equipment and progress your character alone or with other players.

Party members can support each other through different builds, combining defense, damage, control and healing.

PvP

Optional Player Combat

PvP is optional and is turned off by default.

When the host enables PvP for a multiplayer session, players can damage one another with both melee and ranged attacks.

This lets groups create their own friendly duels or competitive challenges without making PvP a requirement for normal play.
